"You need something to open up a new door
To show you something you seen before
But overlooked a hundred times or more
You need something to open your eyes
You need something to make it known
That it's you and no one else that owns
That spot that yer standing, that space that you're sitting
That the world ain't got you beat
That it ain't got you licked
It can't get you crazy no matter how many
Times you might get kicked
You need something special all right
You need something special to give you hope
But hope's just a word" — Bob Dylan

Where the Sidewalk Ends (for Brian)
There is a place where the sidewalk ends
And before the street begins,
And there the grass grows soft and white,
And there the sun burns crimson bright,
And there the moon-bird rests from his flight
To cool in the peppermint wind.
Let us leave this place where the smoke blows black
And the dark street winds and bends.
Past the pits where the asphalt flowers grow
We shall walk with a walk that is measured and slow,
And watch where the chalk-white arrows go
To the place where the sidewalk ends.
Yes we'll walk with a walk that is measured and slow,
And we'll go where the chalk-white arrows go,
For the children, they mark, and the children, they know
The place where the sidewalk ends.

And there the grass grows soft and white,

We believe in the Golden Rule.
We believe in giving the benefit of the doubt, rather than the disadvantage of the doubt.
We are traditionally against the death penalty, and can make exceptions to cases of necrophilia.
We believe the burden of proof is on the person accusing someone of doing something, not on the person accused of doing something.
We are against making situations and or scenarios worse than what it already is.
We believe people should be treated equally by gender, that is, equal-gender opportunists.
We believe we have a moral obligation to live for (help) others, in order to not seem evil.
We believe in giving sympathy.
We do not take offense to words that are not offensive and there is an intent of offense used on them. We do not take offense to offensive words in the lack of offensive intent. We find it reasonable to take offense to offensive words with offensive intent. Both elements are required, not 1 or the other.
We value people without lawyers. If you really are innocent, you don't need 1.
We sympathize about those that are less fortunate, rather than "happify" about those that are more fortunate.
We believe it is better to be sad about something, than to be angry about something.
We prefer people that would get sad when something unfortunate happens, rather than angry.
We prefer people that do not get pissed off easily.
We believe the amount of enemies we don't have is more important than the amount of friends we do have.
We believe what a person does is only half of whether the person is a good person or not, the other half is what the person doesn't do.
We believe there's a difference between a good person doing good things for the good reason and good people doing good things for bad reasons.
We believe people need a reason to dislike someone - they can't dislike someone "just because."
We believe any society where criticisms of any sort is unacceptable, the society itself is unacceptable.
We believe: better safe than sorry. And thus, we believe: better to ask for permission, than to ask for forgiveness.
We believe it is better for us to be hated for what we are, than to be liked for what we are not.
We believe it is better to be hated for telling the truth, than to be liked for telling a lie.
We believe it is not okay to believe in something simply because you want it to be true or wish it were true.
We believe proving that something that has already happened was unlikely to happen proves absolutely nothing.
We believe something that has the intelligence to differentiate the difference between right and wrong has a responsibility to do right from wrong.
We believe truth is not determined by opinion, but by evidence.
We believe that if you think you can't have any or don't deserve any, you probably will avoid getting any.
We believe it is better to get screwed, by assuming people won't screw you over, than to assume people will screw you over, and not get screwed.
We believe it is better to get screwed, by assuming people won't screw you over, than for people to assume you will screw them, and not screw them.
We believe it is better to assume people will screw you over, and not get screwed, than for people to assume you will screw them, and screw them.
We believe it is foolish to be more confident in our opinions that the knowledge we have justifies. And that it would be irrational to have less.
We believe making sense is a pre-requisite for actions.
We believe it is not okay, for a situation where someone would have been found guilty of a crime without a lawyer, and found not-guilty of a crime with a lawyer.
We believe it is okay to be proud of something if and only you chose to be that something, and not if you were born to be that something or don't have the choice to no longer be that something.
We believe race and ethnicity is not something to be proud nor ashamed about.
We prefer people shouldn't be proud of their race or ethnicity or genetics, or forced-religion, and can find it reasonable to be proud of something that people chose to be, and have the choice to not be.
We believe it is better to be easy to be content and hard to be mad, than to be hard to be content and easy to be upset.
We believe that it doesn't matter if you're in a good mood or a bad mood. That good days are the same as bad days. That moods do not define you.
We believe that the validity of a criticism does not in any way depend on who makes it.
We are against people dictated by time of day. Or in other words, whether it is day or night does not define them.
We believe that it isn't about whether someone guessed "right" or "wrong," - whether every conclusion is correct, but whether it was justified based on the evidence available to them.
We believe that it isn't about whether someone guessed "right" or "wrong" about something - but about whether their conclusion was correct based on the evidence available to them.
We believe that people who have had a hard time standing on their own 2 feet won't be as receptive to a philosophy that stresses self-responsibility.
We believe that the segregation of bathrooms and locker rooms by gender weren't to protect the females from being seen by the males and to protect the males from being seen by the females, but just to protect the females from being seen by the males.
We believe that when humans are free, they will naturally form cliques and hierarchy.
We believe that it is easier for young children of different races and culture to make friends with each other, than when if they are much older.
We believe that lust is an example of conflict of interest.
We believe that females in general take more offense to being randomly photographed by males than males can tolerate being photographed randomly by females (as well as places like beaches, especially).

"Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.”
